My First Ever Loan: Pag ibig Multipurpose Loan

I was really planning that once I reach my 2 years of working I will try to apply for a loan I can avail with. I searched in the internet the type of loan I am eligible and based on what I have found out, I can loan with Pag iBig Multipurpose loan because you can now start applying for a loan once you have made 24 contributions.

I asked for an application form directly from my HR department. I then filled out the necessary information so that they can already sign for it under employer's information. They also asked me to sign up the waiver for salary deduction for my monthly amortization once I will start paying.

For the other requirements that I need to bring, these are the following:
- photocopy of the latest 1 month's payslip
- photocopy of 2 valid IDs
- photocopy of 2 Valid IDs for the Cash Card

As for my case, since I just got married this year, I provided along with the requirements a photocopy of my Marriage Contract so it is really a good thing that I brought with me my Marriage Contract and other IDs. They also asked an ID where I have my married name on it. The only thing I have at that time is my Philhealth ID. It's a good thing they accepted it.

I went to the Pag ibig branch which I prefer to go that is in Gaisano Capital South located in the heart of Colon St. Cebu City. The office is located in the fifth floor. When i arrived there there are people waiting for their number to be called in the big screen. As for me since I am pregnant I was given priority. I just went directly to either counter's, 1, 2, or 3 once it is already vacated.

I handed all of my requirements to the teller. She asked me some questions like when I was married and when I did I start working. She also checked in the system If I am already eligible just to be sure. After that she prepared the cash card that is under Land Bank which signals that I am done with my application.

Wow! I can't imagine I finished my first loan and Pag ibig Multipurpose loan in just a few minutes.

Oops! Before I forget, as for the releasing of the money, I just need to check the cash card 3-5 working days.

That's a wrap! Until my next post bloggers!

How to Get OEC or Overseas Employment Certificate Online

My father went on a vacation here in the Philippines twice. He works as an Overseas Filipino Worker or OFW in Singapore. First was on December 2014 for his 1 month vacation every year. Second was on June 2014 to attend a very special event of my life.

During his first vacation, he asked me a favor  to get a Balik-Manggawa form directly in the POEA office here in Cebu which is a bit of a hassle because he has to fill it up and wait in line to get his OEC. I went there after my work. I just asked the security guard where to get it. My father then went there personally to process it. On the second time that he came home, he told me to do it online. I didn't quiet understand the process so I searched about it online.

I was routed to this website:  https://www.bmonline.ph/

Technically, the process is to register on that website and set an appointment. You still have to go to the POEA office that is nearest to you but you don't have to line up and wait for your turn. The people working in the POEA will just verify your registration and ask you to pay to the cashier. After the verification process, you will be given a printout for the instructions wherein you need to log back in to the website and print it there.

1. You need to register on the website and make sure you use an active email address.

Register
2. Go to the website of your email service provider and log in. You will have to confirm the registration by clicking on the link.

Confirm the registration

3. You need to complete your profile by clicking Edit and Save. You also need to upload a picture. Please take note on the type of picture you can use.

This is what your Profile looks like after providing the information.

4. Set an appointment. In doing this, you will be asked on your expected flight schedule. After that is to select the nearest POEA office and select the date and time you prefer (there are limited slots). Don't forget to print the OFW Info Sheet and bring it there together with the important documents.
Click NEXT STEP to have this.

5. Print OEC by going to My Transactions.
OEC.

Just a friendly reminder, please check your email because you will receive confirmation emails once you have set an appointment with reminders what to bring and once the OEC is approved.

Updating Your Philhealth's Civil Status

We just recently got married to my boyfriend of 4 years long this June 2015. A lot of our relatives and friends to witness our wedding vow. Now that I am officially husband and wife, it is time to update our civil status.

First stop, Philhealth.

I chose Philhealth first because I think this would be the easiest and fastest I can transact with other than any agencies. But before anything else, I need to prepare the needed requirements.

Things to bring are the following:
1. a photocopy of Marriage Certificate
2. fully accomplished Philhealth Member Registration form

Together with my husband, we then went to the nearest Philhealth office in our place. Since I am from the South of Cebu we went to CarCar City because there is one there and the good thing is that there's no much queue in there the last time we went. It is just a 30-minute drive from my place.

We were greeted by the security guard who accomodated us and gave us the form we need. my husband was also there to actually pay his premium payments since he is a voluntary member. The security guard advised us to just have my husband's philhealth deactivated and have him added as my dependent. So he also handed us a Deactivation Letter wherein my husband needs to fill up.

Here are the steps:
1. I registered my name in the Log book.
2. Got my priority number.
3. When my number was called, I gave the requirements to the personnel.
4. Received my latest Member Data Record (MDR) and Philhealth ID.

Everything happened so fast which is less than 5 minutes. My husband was so happy to see that I am already carrying his last name as my last name. We went hope happy since we also didn't have to pay for his philhealth anymore. We saved money at the same time.

Good is really, really good!

But wait, there's more to go! I still have SSS, BIR, COMELEC, DFA and etc. to change my information with. 'Till next time bloggers! I hope this helps.

Lunch @ Lantaw Restaurant in Busay Cebu City

I have been longing to eat here in Lantaw in any of its branches. Since we were heading to Busay together with my boyfriend and her sister to hang out, I decided that we just eat in Lantaw when we get there. We originally wanted to ride a taxi cab but taxi drivers are refusing us so we just rode a "habal-habal" or motorcycle from JY Square Mall in Lahug. The travel was not bad even though it was already at noon.

Once we where there, we were given for the menu and I am like really hungry when I saw the pictures of the food that we are about to eat. I want to to order everything but as you can see with the price we just have to pick which one. I will just try the other food the next time I will eat in Lantaw.

We ordered sisig, lechon kawali and baked scallops. We were told by the waitress to wait for 20 minutes for the orders to be served but it really didn't that long and it was served. As for our juices, weopted into orange and pineapple. We also ordered four cups of rice.

We just didn't come here for the food or the restaurant but also because of the view which is overlooking the city of Cebu.

After eating, we just unwind and enjoyed the view.

La Vie Parisienne in Ayala Cebu

Hi blogsters! I don't want to end the month of September without writing here in my online diary. This time, I want to blog about La Vie Parisienne in Ayala Cebu. This is like an extension on the La Vie Parisienne in Lahug, Cebu City. Actually, I haven't gone there yet and going to this place was not part of my plan. I was supposedly will be meeting my college bestfriends in Ayala Mall. I haven't met them since graduation.

We were just strolling in the mall until we reached here. I'm really sure which part of the mall this is located. I don't really always go to Ayala. We have planned to try this place because I have been looking forward to visit La Vie Parisienne. I always passby the one in Lahug everytime when I go to work.

So we tried this place and checked what's in it for me and my friends. One of my friends is really good with French Language. I asked her to order the foods for us since she know how to pronounce them. i tried their crossiants and my friends tried some cakes.

I forgot the exact prices of these foods but it ranges between 50 - 100 pesos.

The picture above is the one that my friend Ajoy ordered.

The picture above is the one ordered by my friend Nicole.

We sat down on one of the tall chairs. It is very lovely especially at night. You will see the highway outside of the mall and the city lights. We talked and and talked until we were full.

I will not leave this place without having a photo opportunity. The place is so nice and as well as the food. I will definitely go back here with my boyfriend or my parents. Definitely.

A Story of My Undispensed Cash

So it was Payday. At last I will enjoy my hard-earned money. I decided to withdraw money for 2 reasons. First, so that I can have it transferred to my savings account. Second, I don't have money left for my expenses. The ATM withdrawal happened during my lunch break last August 01, 2014 in JY Square, Lahug Cebu City using BDO's ATM since my payroll will be them. I was planning to withdraw P10,000.00. I made sure that money is already there by making a "Balance Inquiry". I actually brought my colleague with me. While she was waiting behind me, I told her that no money came out from the ATM machine. She advised me to do it again. One thing I have noticed from the very first time I tried to do it was i got an error message from the screen but it just happened I forgot the exact error message.

I let it go. I don't want to waste my time on this and just went back to the office. I ate my lunch.. That was by the way exactly 12 AM since I work night shift.

So I got off from work. I have then decided to try to withdraw again but from a different BDO ATM in Metro Gaisano, Colon, Cebu City. I did not bother to check the balance. I just went ahead and placed the same amount that I want to withdraw. Nothing came out still. I got worried and literally nervous that my heart was beating so fast. I can't even press the keys in the ATM. I then tried to check balance to see what's happening. My eyes can't believe what I saw. The amount that I have been trying to withdraw is not there anymore. I didn't know what to do. But I just can't stare at the ATM machine since there's already queue and decided to go home knowing that I still have an hour or more to reach my home.

While riding a jeepney, I immediately texted my mom and boyfriend about the incident. I prayed to God that I would still be able to get it back.

After almost an hour I was finally home. I did not know what to do. My mom advised me to go to the nearest BDO branch nearest to my area which is BDO Gaisano Minglanilla. I had to wait for them to open first since I arrived home 8 AM. But I was hesitant to go there because they might just ignore me.

What I did was I called BDO Customer Support using our PLDT landline. I got lucky because it was answered very quickly. The customer presentative name was Romel I think. I informed him the reason I called. He was apologetic. He was nice, actually. He then educated me that they will have to investigate it for a maximum of 5 business days. My initial reaction was very surprised. I want to appeal to it since I really did not get the money. And I really need it. However, there is really nothing that I can do but to wait. I understand especially that I am also a customer representative myself. He gave me a CASE ID in reference to the report that he will be making.

I waited. On the first business day which is also my first day of work I tried to check the balance using the BDO mobile app. It is still not there. I want to check it day after day because who know they will credit the money anytime soon without having me to wait until the 5th business day.

I checked my ATM card on the 2nd business day. I was felt with gladness because at last when i checked the balance the money is already there. I didn't waiste my time. I then withdraw the money so I can use it.

Lastly, I got a text regarding the money! Thank you BDO! That was an experience I will never forget! You really find WAYS! I am just hoping that things will be better with all ATM machines to avoid this from happening ever again. I was actually plannning to open a Savings Account before this happened but now I am having second thoughts. Anyways, the most important thing is I got my moolah back!

First Time Traveller: Visiting The Philippine General Consulate in Hong Kong [2012]

Part of our tour in Hong Kong is to visit The Philippine General Consulate in Hong Kong. Right after we arrived and ate, we then headed to our next itinerary. Thanks to our Dean and to Josenian Junior Diplomats who came up with this idea.

So I assumed that the office is located in United Centre. We took an elevator to get to their office.

PHILCONGEN HK SAR CHAIR

We had a seminar which covered generally about Hong Kong, OFWs in Hong Kong and the officers' role in Hong Kong in helping out OFWs. Right after the seminar, we then had an open seminar wherein we asked questions to them. I didn't ask because I was amazed of the people who works here in Philippine General Consulate in Hong Kong. They play a big role when it comes to the bilateral relationship between Philippines and Hong Kong amidst every crisis we may face.

After the seminar, we had a tour in the different government offices here.

consular fees in Hong Kong dollars
It was a good thing that I took a photo of the consular fees because one of my classmates lost her passport when they arrived in Hong Kong. While waiting for my other classmates to arrive, they waited in the airport since they are the first to arrive. This was helpful in order for her to know the fees. That was really unfortunate of her. Thus, it is really important that we keep our travel documents safe because anything can happen.

Thank you for Welcoming us here in United Centre!

This is one of the experience that I will never forget. The officers in Philippine General Consulate in Hong Kong are my inspirations if I will pursue my career as an International Studies student.
